One reason we decided to do a wedding-themed Pinterest contest is to see some of the inspired ideas brides and grooms have for their respective wedding day (and let me say, there are some absolutely fantastic entries). But because the best board wins our contest, we wanted to help our entrants make the most of their entry. That’s why we put together a list of our favorite wedding blogs and websites to find inspiration for your big day…and your Pinterest board.
We hope this helps. Good luck, and again, congratulations!
One of the top wedding blogs online with comprehensive feature articles covering the style and décor of an entire wedding. Each post covers everything you need for inspired ideas from the wedding party, ceremony, reception setup, cake, and even the invitations. The whole package! Style Me Pretty is founded and run by Abby and Tait.
Wedding Chicks is another fully featured wedding inspiration blog with a focus on gorgeous imagery. On top of all the great ideas contained within, you can also find vendor features, DIY craft projects, and free stuff! This is a great place to start.
This site shows off absolutely gorgeous photography and is loaded with inspiration for the entire event, from invitations to favors. If warm, soft colors and consistent palettes are your style (lots of soft pinks!), then this blog is probably for you.
This blog takes a slightly different approach to wedding inspiration. While the focus is still on great imagery, the content usually revolves around a single component rather than a fully featured event. This is especially helpful if you’re looking for creative ways to juxtapose the subjects for your wedding shots. It’s created by wedding photographer and author Elizabeth Messina.
This site offers lots of creative and even offbeat (yet classy) inspiration for brides and grooms. It’s another top blog with fully-featured event posts and tons of great pictures to browse. The site is run by Jen and Jason, a husband and wife team from California.
This Irish wedding blog is one of our favorites, and you’ll also appreciate it if you’re getting hitched on the Emerald Isle. But even if you’re not from Ireland, you’ll love some of the quirky ideas contained within this blog. Beautiful green rolling landscape not included.
SnippetAndDink.com is a wedding blog that focuses more on the event planning aspect than the rest on this list. If you’re looking for table decorations and style inspiration, this is the blog you want. Katherine (founder and editor) and her team of writers have put this lovely site together.
A lot of the previously mentioned blogs focus on imagery to inspire wedding planners, brides, and grooms to be. HereComesTheBlog.com isn’t lacking in that area; however, its main focus is creating helpful advice for those about to get hitched. It’s not all about the pretty pictures — knowing how to choose a caterer is equally (if not more) important than the overall aesthetics of your event.
Polka Dot Bride is another comprehensive wedding blog with absolutely fantastic feature posts. In fact, we like this site so much it made this list twice (see the “Blogs for Grooms” section below).
Wedding Blogs Off the Beaten Path
Here’s some wedding inspiration for those looking for a theme with a bit of rock and roll attitude without sacrificing style or class. RockNRollBride.com has been run by Kat Williams since 2007 and it remains one of the top wedding blogs online.
Looking for some truly creative non-traditional wedding ideas or themes? This blog can be a great help. Their philosophy is that your wedding should be a reflection of you, not of tradition. Be true to yourself and check out this blog!
This UK wedding blog features weddings and themes with a rather unique eye for rustic elegance. Add that to a bit of a punk-rock aesthetic and you can start to see why this is one of the best blogs for planning a wedding in an older venue.
If you’re looking for some ideas or inspiration for a vintage-themed wedding, then this blog is perfect. Styles of the 50’s are wildly popular for weddings, and even if that’s not necessarily the theme you’re going for, you might just see an idea or two that can solve your “something old” dilemma.
If you’re struggling with a color theme or simply need help accessorizing your chosen palette, this site is for you. It’s simple and easy to use; just click on the color you like (in the right-side navigation) and prepare to be inspired.
The Dessy Group isn’t technically a blog — they’re mainly a leading manufacturer of bridesmaids dresses. But their Pantone inspiration tool is a lifesaver when deciding the color theme of a wedding. What better place to start than with the color of your bridesmaids dresses?
Wedding Inspiration for Couples on a Budget
This blog has all kinds of money-saving ideas for weddings if sacrificing style isn’t an option. Great advice for any bride or groom who can’t afford to break the bank getting hitched.
This site’s tagline is: “Weddings. Minus the insanity, plus the marriage.” It’s not always about saving money, because sometimes a couple just wants to be married without all the hoopla. And who could blame them? So if that’s the case with you and your spouse-to-be, then take a look at this blog for some ideas to keep the day special while getting rid of the stress.
Getting married on a budget can feel restrictive, but if you get creative with it you can not only save money but also end up with an event that best fits your personality. Beer wedding cake? I wish I had thought of that…
One of the best ways to save money on a wedding is to take on some of the decorating yourself. DIYBride.com has inspiration and how-to’s on just about every aspect of a wedding. Depending on how much time (or skill) you have, this site might be a life saver. Don’t skip it!
Blogs for the Groom
There aren’t many wedding blogs out there for men, but this is a fantastic example. With everything from proposal inspiration to stag party ideas, Staggered has everything the groom needs to be prepared for the big day.
A fantastic advice blog for grooms preparing for their wedding day. There’s more than just tuxedos and gifts for the groomsmen! It contains tons of advice for things like picking the right band and planning your honeymoon, and it’ll help make the day special for both of you.
Polkadotbride.com is already on this list above, but they highlight features for grooms and groomsmen so well that we wanted to mention them twice. PolkaDotGroom is simply a sub-category of the main blog, yet it deserves recognition as a niche wedding blog on its own. Not to be missed.
Complete Wedding Planning Resources
This is one of the biggest wedding sites for a reason. Not only do they have a blog for inspiration and a community to bounce ideas off of, but the site itself acts as a valuable wedding planning tool. If you’re not planning your wedding on Pinterest, this site has everything you need and more.
MyWedding.com is another fantastic comprehensive wedding planning website and tool for brides (and grooms). It has to-do lists, vendors, advice, and inspiration all in one place. What could be easier?
WeddingWire.com is a fantastic wedding community and comprehensive planning site with a bit of a focus on local vendors. It’s a little smaller than the other two, but just as rich in content and ideas.
