There’s a lot to be said for promotional products. When you’re looking to generate brand awareness for your company or small business in a cost-effective manner, there’s arguably no better way to go about it.
Logoed items have the power to turn an otherwise run-of-the-mill promotion into something that potential customers and clients will remember you for.
Monetary value aside, though, it’s easy to forget about the other inherent power of the promo product: the power to improve a person’s mood.
THESE BEFORE & AFTER IMAGES WILL DEMONSTRATE WHAT I MEAN
Take Patty Jenkinson, for instance:

She was hoping to land that big, new account that everyone in the office has been vying for. Instead, the new account went to Trevor, the young, twenty-something hotshot who routinely refers to himself in the third-person around the office.
Patty is understandably disappointed. But wait…

Looks like the head of accounts just brightened up her day with a brand new, personalized, Deluxe Executive Padfolio!
She may not have that new account, but now she can keep better track of the accounts she does have – thanks to her new promo item!
Now, have a look at Sergeant Steve McKenzie and Officer Rott Weiler:

They came up on the force together, and believe in the strength of the American justice system. But the long hours and time away from their families is beginning to take its toll. Lately, they’ve been feeling burnt-out.
Hang on a sec, guys! Looks like the Commissioner has something for you…

Look at that! Nothing says law enforcement like Lightweight Brushed Cotton Twill Hats with buckle closure and six-panel construction. Watch out, crime committers, these boys mean business!
Last but not least, consider Dr. Dan Van der Graff. He’s on his eleventh patient of the day – little Suzy Speckles:

Suzy is just in for her routine, biannual check-up.
But Dr. Dan knows that the dental mirror and excavator he’s currently holding are clearly not the right instruments for the job.
He politely asks his assistant to hand him the correct instrument…

And it’s his lucky day! His assistant has just presented him with his very own, customized, Dual-Tip Pen-Highlighter. Dr. Dan couldn’t be happier, now that he knows he can perform his job to the best of his ability!

Do YOU enjoy receiving promotional products at random? Do logoed items make you as happy as the individuals featured here? What other promo products do you think would help ordinary people out of discouraging situations?

Man, I guess I never knew the healing power of a padfolio! Patty looks so happy and I have a feeling that her entire world has been turned around. Congratulations, Paddy!
Though I think that Dr. Dan needs to go through a lengthy review. I question his instruments for cleaning teeth…
Yep, Patty’s on the express train to Productivity Town now that she’s got such a useful item in her life.
How can you question Dr. Dan’s instruments? His name is custom-printed on that pen-highlighter. It doesn’t get any more professional than that!
“on the express train to Productivity Town.”
Classic. Going to have to use that one myself.
Funny stuff, Joe! You’ll have to make this one a two-parter…way too many real-life situations and tableaus you could work promo products into, here.
This is AMAZING work Joe. This totally made my day just that much better. But, some free promo products would put it over the top!
Gracias. You’re too kind, sir!
Hahahaha this is awesome, Joe!
I LOL’d just a bit when I saw the dentist highlighting that girl’s teeth.
Oh, and that cop is looking pretty baller with that fly promo hat of his.
Definitely looking forward to a part deux.
Thanks, Kyle!
Yeah, I’ll definitely turn it into a series. It’s too much fun NOT to do a sequel. So, “part duex” will probably be out in a week or two.
This blog is a new favorite, Joe! Great job!!!!
Patty’s predicament was my favorite. People who refer to themselves in the third person creep me out, so I feel for Patty. Oh well, that padfolio is nice and definitely looks professional. Maybe a company that will fully appreciate Patty’s skills will scoop her up
Thanks, Amy!
Haha. Maybe! Although, the head of accounts at her current company was kind enough to give her that amazing padfolio. Maybe there’s a promotion in store for her!
I do have to say that last year for holiday gifts to my clients I gave out QLP travel mugs with my logo on them. Everyone was so excited! They still ask if I have any left over because it’s their favorite travel mug! One of my clients was upset because she bought her husband an expensive travel mug for Christmas, and he is always using his Amy Murphy’s Salon & Spa travel mug! I love that! This year we are doing Double Wall Tumblers and also bottle opener keychains. My idea behind the keychains is that my male clients (who drink beer) will love them, and my female clients (who don’t drink beer) can give them to their beer-drinking husbands who will use them and will then have no excuse not to get them a gift card to the salon for every holiday! Everyone wins! Husbands, Wives, and ME!
First off, great choice going with the Double Wall Tumblers for your holiday giveaways! Those always tend to impress. Can’t go wrong there.
Second, I like your logic behind the keychains. No beer drinker in his (or her) right mind would pass up a free bottle opener. And it’s funny you should mention that — I actually just bought a bottle-opener keychain on a whim last weekend, so I can certainly attest to their usefulness!
Thanks for stopping by the blog, Amy! Best of luck on the giveaways!
Hahahaha, I love that some of the girl’s teeth in the last picture are highlighted yellow. Also that the police officer is named Rott Weiler and not the dog.
These people all look so happy with their promo products! And really, what’s not to love about free stuff?
My thoughts exactly, Rachel! If I was given a free pen-highlighter with my name custom-printed on it, you’d better believe that I’d highlight everything I possibly could — within reason, I suppose (unlike Dr. Dan). Of course, free caps and padfolios would be better still!
Love this post Joe! Great job! Sergeant Steve McKenzie is looking super fly in that hat, and I can’t wait for my check up next week with Dr. Dan. I sure hope my teeth look as good as Suzy Speckles’.
Haha. Yeah, Sergeant Steve will be commanding authority like never before with his new promo cap.
Dr. Dan is your dentist?! Lucky!!! I’ve been told he’s one of the best around, but I had no idea his offices were nearby. I wonder if he’s under my provider’s network. I should find out.
