OVERVIEW: A mattress outlet center geared up for the Grand Opening of their new outlet store with several local TV commercial spots detailing their upcoming Grand Opening Sale. They drew attention to the store by placing a two-story blow up lumberjack in the parking lot. They gave away several promotional products as customers entered the store.
DISTRIBUTION: A greeter asked each potential customer entering the store to fill out a small drawing card for an in-store prize drawing. The store provided all contestants with a BIC XXL to fill out the cards and keep as a free gift. Each pen was imprinted with the store logo and slogan.
OUTCOME: The pen was the perfect medium that gave the store repeat name exposure. The mattress outlet store chose the XXL due to its large size and soft foamy grip, similar to a mattress.
