Guilty as Charged: Admit That You Swipe Promotional Pens!

Okay, it’s time to confess.  Whether or not you’re willing to admit that you love promotional products, you have to admit that you snatch imprinted company pens at every possible opportunity.  I mean, who doesn’t?  Few can resist the temptation to swipe a custom pen, especially if it’s high quality.

Think of all the businesses that tend to have personalized pens: doctor’s offices, local supermarkets, colleges, banks, post offices, restaurants…you get the idea.  How many times have you used a pen at one of those places and thought: “Wow, this is a cushy pen” and then slyly slipped it into your pocket or your purse?  I don’t know about you, but that situation happens to me ALL THE TIME!

Now, what do you think happens the next time you or one of your friends needs a pen to jot down a phone number or to write an important memo?  That’s right – YOU are the savior they need because you yanked that promotional pen from your dentist’s office!  Doesn’t that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

How does promotional pen kleptomania help businesses?  By spreading contact information from customer to potential customer. Let’s say that the pen I “borrowed” from my bank just so happens to fall into the hands of a friend who needs a checking account; this situation benefits the bank by spreading brand recognition (and even more so if new business is generated), and it benefits the potential customer if he or she needs to contact them!

So, in a roundabout way, everyone who swipes customized pens can claim a love for promo items!  Let us know your funny or interesting stories about company pen theft by posting your comments in the space below.  Thanks for reading the Quality Logo Products blog!
