January 2012 Holidays, Observances, and Awareness Dates: Plan Your Promotions!

Wow, is it January already? Between the holidays and end of the year wrap up here at Quality Logo Products, we let some time slip away from us. But we’re back, you’re back, and it’s time to jump feet first into January and 2012.

With Customer Service Day and National Thank Your Customers Week, January is still the perfect month for corporate gifts. Besides, with your competitors’ gift baskets already last month’s news, your thank you gift will be fresh and new. And thus, your brand will be fresh and new in your clients’ minds.

Look at the other things going on this month (click to enlarge):

Even though Festival of Sleep Day has passed, it’s still one that I believe should be celebrated all month. Support healthy sleeping patterns and make your corporate gift a whimsical plushie. These stuffed animals are positively adorable and very cuddly for optimum napping partners.

You don’t really need a holiday to hand out promotional pens, but National Book Month and National Letter Writing Week are great reasons to get some pens into your clients’ hands.

Spooner Mugs aren’t just a great promotion for the soup lovers in your life, but it’s a fantastic overall winter promotion. And considering that we have (at least) two months left of cold, mugs and other wintertime items will still see a lot of use.

A new year brings self-improvement, so tailor your promotional products to popular resolutions. Try some gum for those trying to quit smoking, pedometers for an office fitness challenge, or desk storage containers to tidy up your work space. Everyone can use a little encouragement!

If you are interested in any of the products from our calendar to can find them here: Plush 10″ Traditional Bear, Luminesque Pen, and Aztec Spooner Mug (10 Oz.).

Are you ready to have the best January promotion ever? If you’re ready to get started or want some more suggestions, then contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable representatives by phone (866-312-5646), by e-mail (info@qualitylogoproducts.com), via live chat, or leaving a comment below!

Looking forward to any particular holiday or awareness week this month? Did we miss any? How do you plan to use promotional products this January?

I think ‘Festival of Sleep Day’ should be a monthly occurrence, not just a yearly one ;) Also, January 25th is a day that I celebrate every year since it’s my birthday!!! :D I love these calendar posts that you do, Mandy! Thanks!!

    • Mandy Kilinskis

I completely agree. In fact, I would be okay with Festival of Sleep Day being weekly or even daily. ;)

Happy early birthday! Let us know if you get any sweet promo items from companies!

Very informative post! January is definitely the time to promote this 2012 new year, love it! Never knew about all these awareness events… I learn something new everyday! Thanks for the update :)

    • Mandy Kilinskis

It always surprises me about about how many awareness days/weeks/months there are! And if a company has a particular association with one of them, they would make a huge impact running a promotion related to it.

Glad that we’re all learning something new! :)

Finally, some recognition for the delicious soups that so many of us take for granted! Let’s be honest — there’s nothing better on a cold winter’s night than a hot cup of Chicken Noodle.

In fact, what better way to celebrate National Soup Month than by having a bowl EACH and EVERY night in January?

    Who’s with me?!

    • Mandy Kilinskis

I’m glad that soup is getting a little recognition. I have to agree, a warm bowl of soup is sometimes the perfect meal during the cold months.

I don’t know about each and every night, but I am definitely up for eating more soup during the month! :)

    • Jen

I’ll eat soup with you Joe. I love soup too :) My favorite is tomato (with grilled cheese of course!) but I also love a good bowl of chicken noodle now and again.

  4. Alex Brodsky

I’m with Joe on the awesomeness of soup! Nothing against Chicken Noodle, however, Creamy Tomato soup with LOADS of melted Mozzarella stirred in… GLORIOUS!

And also, in observance of National Mentoring Month, I will open myself up to be a mentor for ONE lucky intern. I’ll be accepting applications at my office in 724 through the end of the week.

It’ll be a learning experience like none other.

    • Mandy Kilinskis

I’ll apply, but only if your internship is 100% stories about Warner Bros. studies.

      • Alex Brodsky

I suppose it can be all about WB… Except for “2 1/2 Men”… That show blows

        • Mandy Kilinskis

Deal! I don’t want to know anything about that show. I like my TV Tiger Blood-free. :)

National Handwriting Day–that sounds fun! And another good reason to hand out pens. :)

Thanks for the calendar, Mandy! Also, that plush dog Bo you link to? HE’S MY FAVORITE. So adorable!!!!!!

    • Mandy Kilinskis

National Handwriting Day does sound fun! It’s good to remind ourselves that letters occur in other ways than a keyboard.

Bo is adorable! He’s definitely one of my favorites. But my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE is Yukon!

  6. Jen

Very informative calendar Mandy!! I love the Aztec Spooner Mug, it’s so sleek. Anyone would love a hot beverage or soup in that on a cold January day.

    • Mandy Kilinskis

We had a similar conversation in our office about the Spooner Mugs! I’d also love to get my hands on one of them. Hot chocolate, coffee, and delicious soup (tortilla and creamy chicken are my favorites) would be so convenient and fun.
