You may think that October 9th is a bit late to be having Fire Prevention Week, but it's actually the perfect time. There's nothing more enjoyable than sitting around a bonfire on a crisp October evening with warm apple cider, some friends, and some s'mores. Educate your town's citizens about proper fire safety and your fire department will be able to save more cats from trees instead of putting out 4-alarm fires.
Maybe your community is doing a fall festival with pumpkin picking, scarecrow decorating contests, and hayrides? This is a perfect time to set up a booth with some pamphlets and firefighters manning the table along with some customized items for visitors to walk away with. If you host a 'meet and greet' for people to come and visit the local firehouse, then definitely having imprinted items at the end of the tour will make an impact!
Even though Fire Prevention week is the week of October 9th, really anytime you remind people about fire safety is the perfect time. There are always little things like never fueling an already lit fire with lighter fluid or to always have a bucket of water at the ready need to be reminded on at least a yearly basis. We're here and happy to help with whatever questions or concerns you have, just call us up or send us an email!
