Distribution Method
If you’re handing out items in person, you can get away with heavy or awkwardly shaped products. If you’re mailing them, it’s most cost effective to design a lightweight, regularly shaped item.
Campaign Type
You will design an item for a single sale differently than an item tailored strictly to brand recognition. Single-use and disposable items are the best fit for event promotions, while mugs, stress balls, and t-shirts work better for long term campaigns.
Target Audience
Getting children to ask their parents for something is a lot different than marketing straight to their parents. For younger audiences, bright colors and interesting shapes are going to matter far more than a URL. For adults, contact information and specifics are more appealing.
