Since its creation, Adobe Photoshop has become a staple in digital photography. It can be used for a wide variety of tasks and it is relatively easy to use. Photoshop is ideal for beginners as well as for gurus in the digital imaging world. You can add layers, create fun text, add color to photographs, and even create images on your logo products with Adobe Photoshop. Its versatility and user-friendly interface is what makes it an industry standard.
Adobe Photoshop is a very useful program, but can seem very overwhelming the first few times you use it. If you’d like to build upon an existing image you have in a physical format, make sure that you scan it into your computer properly. Then it’s time to edit the photo. If there are imperfections, take the time to retouch or restore the image.
There are lots of ways that you can change, add, or replace color to images. There are also many filters that you can lay over images to give it depth and attention. Be sure to crop your image if there is too much background than subject (unless that’s the effect you’re going for!). Then you can really get creative by adding special effects to your images. Adding a crackle or burned look is easy with the different filters and tools. You can even add dimension and effects to your text and logo! If you’d like to stick to an easier and cleaner 2D look, consider just downloading a new font instead.
Above all, make sure that you take the time to acquaint yourself with layers. Most of the headers and logos that you see online could not be made without layers. They allow you to create gorgeous images that just wouldn’t be possible without an advanced art or graphic design degree.
