February can be a cold, treacherous month, but that just makes it an ideal month to stay inside (yes, the whole month, if we have our say) and curl up with a book or twelve. That's why we think February has been designated Library Lovers Month, and why we think it's the perfect time to warm the spirits of library patrons everywhere with a few good promotional items!
So what do we offer that book lovers everywhere are sure to love as well? Tote bags are always great. Those books can get heavy, especially for the library patron who tends to check out more than six at a time (what? The checkout limit at my library is 100 items.). Pens and pencils are budget-friendly, always an important consideration for a library. Stickers and magnets feature enough room to list the library's hours (as if your regular patrons didn't have them memorized). And if a fundraiser is in your library's future, items like book lights are wonderful for purchase!
Library Lovers Month isn't just a time to celebrate the people who already make use of everything the library has to offer, though. It's also a time to meet new people and welcome a new group of library patrons. Try making promotional products part of a Library Lovers Month outreach campaign. The freebies may get them into the building, but the wealth of knowledge and information will do even more to make them stay.
