The Good: Recognizable symbol, multiple uses, inexpensive.
The Bad: Imprint quality inconsistent, dents in surface.
The Bottom Line: You get what you pay for: the Ribbon Magnetic Clip is very cheap, but it’s not as well made as some of our other awareness ribbon offerings.
Design (4/10): (top)
On the reviewed samples, most of them were in perfect condition. However, with a handful, there were small imperfections such as a faint imprint or a magnet that fell out of the back. These flawed items were in the distinct minority, but the inconsistency in stock was noticeable enough that it warranted mention. Another imperfection that showed up in all samples (to varying degrees) are small dents on the front bottom part of the ribbons. Unlike the other imperfections, though, they are not noticeable unless you are looking for them.
Features (5.5/10): (top)
Each of the Ribbon Magnet Clips comes with a magnet inserted into the back and a jaw clip. The teeth of the clip are pointed but not significantly sharp; however, the clip is much stronger than it appears so careful to make sure you don’t snap fingers in it. Available in white, pink and yellow, the Ribbon Magnet Clips will fit with most advertising campaigns.
Price (7/10): (top)
Although the little flaws have been highlighted in this review, these clips are each about a dollar, so it’s not like they’re going to be gold plated or anything. For campaigns that require reaching a lot of new people on a budget or thanking people for smaller charity donation, the customized Ribbon Magnetic Clip is a great option. For courting larger donors or creating long last bonds, you may want to go with a higher quality Heart Metal Key Tag.
Sticking a Ribbon Magnetic Clip on a fridge can create daily impressions, reminding donors of your gratitude for their support and the jaw clip will hold reminders about upcoming events. Overall, the Ribbon Magnetic Clip makes a good generic handout, but don’t expect it to knock anyone’s socks off.
