The Good: Lightweight and sleek, reports a lot of information accurately, versatile.
The Bad: Can be difficult to set/operate despite accompanying directions, beeps with every button press.
The Bottom Line: Using this product is only recommended if weather is directly tied in with your campaign or organization; otherwise, you would do better to look into a standalone clock.
Design (5.8/10): (top)
The customized Weather Station looks very sleek, though it does not have a lot of heft to it. As a matter of fact, its light weight lends an almost shoddy feeling to the item. However, the sleek silver is eye-catching and goes well with many different types of décor. The readout is bold, allowing you to place it anywhere on your desk and still use it efficiently. The batteries are easy to insert and the stand easy to assemble. A strong advantage of the personalized Weather Station is that it provides daily brand impressions by being a permanent part of the décor.
Features (5.4/10): (top)
Although this item is only available in silver, the fact that it’s color printed means you can customize it with virtually any color logo to fit your company or organization. The Weather Station provides tons of information, including a real time clock with alarm, a temperature/humidity trend function, maximum and minimum temperature/humidity memories, high/low temperature and high/low humidity alarms, temperature (measurement range: -50 to 70 degrees Celsius; -58 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit), humidity (measurement range: 20% to 90% R.H.), calendar (2000-2049), chime on every hour, daily alarm, snooze function and four key operation. For people with temperamental health conditions, the customized Weather Station may help keep them safe from changes in their environment. However, because all of that information is set/operated using four keys, it can be difficult to set and operate even with the provided instructions. Additionally, the beeping keys cannot be silenced (at least, not according to the directions or repeated attempts at improvising), which may bother some users.
Price (5.6/10): (top)
Considering its many features, the first instinct is to label this item a good value. However, many of the functions seems superfluous and not very user friendly. Despite these things, though, weather and temperate related promotions and organizations may find the weather station an extremely useful and appropriate promotional tool.
Depending on the type of event or marketing plan you’re promoting, many organizations will be better off with a simple travel or desk clock. The bonus features do add a certain sophistication to the entire product, but unless you’re personally interested in the constant state of the room’s temperate and humidity, they will be superfluous. Overall, the Weather Station is a decent product, but nothing to write home about.
