Quality Logo Products, a leading Internet-based promotional products distributor, announced that they will follow their customers' lead and expand their own brand right into the building next door. With an expected launch date of mid-January 2010, Quality Logo Products will have completed the conversion of the warehouse space adjacent to its current office location into an additional 3,300 sq./ft. of functional office space.
"Because a rough economy means that competitors are working all the harder for a customer's attention, promotional products are in high demand these days,” said the company's co-founder, Bret Bonnet, explaining how Quality Logo Products continues to thrive during these market conditions. “Manufacturers have also slashed prices, allowing us to pass on unprecedented savings to our customers. We want to make it easier for the customers who have been loyal to us for years to survive during these tough economic times.”
Quality Logo Products has been experiencing growing pains since hiring seven new employees in the past year to keep up with service demands. The current facility is busting at the seams, with every square foot literally being used for workspace and storage, including hallways.
Quality Logo Products continues to require additional customer representatives on a regular basis and maintains zero employee turnover, something Bonnet says has significantly contributed to the success of the company. “Good help is hard to come by, and I like to believe all our employees are as good as they come,” he says. The lack of space combined with management's choice to add additional job positions in 2010 were critical factors in the decision to expand.
“The only solution,” the company's co-owner Mike Wenger said, “was to find more legroom.” They found the space in the attached building, a structure Quality Logo Products already owned and was previously using for additional parking as the company parking lot became full.
Features of the new building include a soundproof conference room for sales meetings, an additional server room to support the company's increased IT demands, a full kitchen, a logo products showroom, and what Bonnet affectionately calls a “bonus room.” Management is undecided on the use of the additional room, but the staff is loudly pushing for something along the lines of a pool or ping pong table.
“Customer confidence is critical,” Bonnet said, when talking about the move to expand the company's headquarters. “By showing that we have the capital to make this move without any 3rd party funding, we're also reassuring customers that we're not going to drop off the map next week. QLP is definitely here to stay.”
