Character-Driven Advertising Quiz: Convenience Foods and Their Mascots

I love grocery shopping! There, I said it. Sigh. I love wandering up and down the aisles to see what new products are available! Whether it’s a new flavor of an old favorite or a completely new concept all together, I’m in. However, I noticed something on a recent trip. Despite the fact that many of the products I was buying weren’t what I would categorize as “kid food,” many packages had a cartoon or some sort of character staring up at me.

This observation got my wheels turning, so I’d like to give you another quiz to test your knowledge of grocery store convenience foods that have a character-driven advertising strategy. As with the other quizzes I’ve complied for your enjoyment (or frustration), not every single character is still used today but were at one point used. Whoever can correctly name the brands associated with these characters wins the highly-coveted Cubeville Street Cred and a thumbs up from Bubba!

1. Peter Pan
2. Cheesasaurus Rex
3. Cookie Guys
4. Charlie the Tuna
5. A Stork
6. Mr. Peanut
7. A Fisherman
8. Jolly Green Giant
9. A Helping Hand
10. A Blacksmith
11. Elsie the Cow
12. Duke the Dog
13. A Mermaid
14. The Angels
15. BONUS: Ethel the Cook

Have fun and play responsibly!

**Please note: Comments will be withheld for a while in order to give everyone a fair guess, so be patient. Remember, it’s considered cheating if you use a search engine to look them up. And everyone knows that cheaters don’t deserve Cubeville Street Cred or a thumbs up from Bubba. Consider yourself warned.
