February 2013 Holidays, Observances, and Awareness Dates: Plan Your Promotions!

Keep your head up – we’re making our way through winter and spring is on the horizon! (The distant horizon, but it’s there. Trust me.)

But while we wait to see a little green again, we have plenty of things happening in February to keep us occupied!

If you spent January recovering from the holidays and planning for the year, the February is the perfect time to jump into a promotion. There are lots of big holidays this month; holidays like Valentine’s Day, Mardi Gras, and Presidents’ Day.

Valentine’s Day is certainly the easiest of the bunch. Show your customers and staff that you care about them with a token of your appreciation. There’s no better time during the year to tell someone that you appreciate their hard work or loyal business. If you’d prefer, though, you can catch your favorite people on Random Acts of Kindness Day.

Let’s see what else is happening in February:

Not many companies run promotions on Groundhog Day. Nor is there any kind of excitement around Groundhog Day. So a social media promotion on February 2nd could generate some buzz and engage your fans. Or imprint a fleet of these adorable groundhog stress balls and hand one out to each customer that comes into your store that day.

Between National Entrepreneurship Week and Build a Better Trade Show Image Week, this is the month to plan out the next step of your business. Is it time to consider hiring some more people? Maybe it’s time you took a vacation. Perhaps you need to expand your brand awareness by putting your startup’s name on a sweet t-shirt. National Write a Business Plan Month is technically in December, but it’s never too late to start!

If your company is a little more established, you’re probably either attending or considering attending some industry trade shows or conventions. So take Build a Better Trade Show Image Week to really think about your presence this year. A new design could bring more foot traffic to your booth, and making sure that you have a full social media strategy is an absolute must. Non-Traditional Wedding Favor Ideas

Planning a wedding? We can help.

But February isn’t just business! It’s also National Weddings Month! With the cold winter temperatures of February, it’s a great month to stay inside and start your planning! From booking venues to picking out favors, there’s plenty to do. If you need a little inspiration, check out our Non-Traditional Wedding Favors board on Pinterest!

Or maybe you run a wedding-centric business and are looking to attend a bridal expo this year. If so, then this is your month to shine! Less couples get married in February than in June, so why not boost this slow month with a coupon or free consultation? Just make sure that you send your paperwork home in an imprinted bag.

Oh, I suppose that the Super Bowl is pretty big thing that’s happening. Make sure that you’re prepared for the biggest game of them all with custom cups, koozies, and other football essentials. Some may be watching for the game, some for the commercials, but there are certainly a lot of people who would be receptive to a promotion that day.
