How to Boost Employee Satisfaction and Improve Productivity

In order to have a successful business, you need to keep your employees’ satisfaction in check. Business atmosphere, functionality, and success all depend upon employee morale, so don’t just assume that your employees are happy. If you are unsure how to maintain employee satisfaction, then here are some suggestions to either create it or improve it!

Make an effort to equally distribute tasks among employees. This will lessen the likelihood of employees feeling overwhelmed with responsibilities, and it will also lessen the likelihood of employees believing that more is expected of them than of other employees with similar positions. A comfortable work environment is crucial for employee satisfaction!

Find a way to let employees know that their efforts and achievements are both appreciated and noticed. This can be done by leaving thank-you notes on their desks or perhaps by sending a “you are appreciated” email once in awhile. A small company gift like a personalized coffee mug also works like a charm! Even small and frequent praise will prove to be very effective toward improving employee morale. Creating a desired level of achievement within the workplace can also help improve employee satisfaction. “Employee of the Month” and similar titles honor employees for their efforts and achievements.

Lessen employees’ workplace stress levels by implementing more frequent break periods and vacations. Better breaks allow employees to take time out of the work day to step away from tasks and focus on less stressful thoughts. Remember that employees are likely to feel refreshed after their breaks and they’ll feel much better about completing their tasks.

Employee vacations are also very important (and often overlooked) ways to improve job satisfaction. Employees who get vacation time are often more dedicated and happier than their counterparts who never get time away from the office to relax. Allowing employees as many personal days as possible can greatly increase and improve employee satisfaction. Don’t forget that your employees have their own lives outside of work; personal situations come up often and it’s important for every employer to understand those needs for vacation time.

First, you know I love your blogs, right?

This is a great article, and one that I am going to share with the new Supervisor of Sales Account Managers. We have a big chasm between the Account Managers and Customer Service that we can’t seem to hurdle. I try to do bigger things from time to time like buy pizza, etc., but I am thinking now that things like thank you notes can be just as, if not more, effective.

Something that happened this Christmas had a big effect on the staff. The owners are somewhat removed from some of the parts of the business. A few days before Christmas, Tai, one of the owners, baked cookies in the employee kitchen, and he and Yuhling, the VP, took them around to every employee, with pretty Christmas napkins and gave cookies to everyone. It had been a tough year for us. But I heard time and again how that small act made the employees feel special and appreciated. I recently shared that with Tai, and he had no idea. So I agree that small things can make a big difference.

Carry on, Quality Logo. We love you!

Thanks, Barb! It’s amazing how something small like a personalized “thank you” note or a freshly-baked cookie can make a difference, isn’t it? Employee satisfaction is like a plant…you have to keep nurturing it and maintaining it in order for it to grow!

I’m so glad you enjoy our blog, and we’ll keep sharing relevant and helpful posts. 🙂

Houses are quite expensive and not everyone is able to buy it. Nevertheless, personal loans was created to aid different people in such situations.
