Travel-Size Promotional Products | TSA-Compliant Necessities for Travelers

Travel is inevitable for most people, so why not prepare for a smooth ride once you reach the airline gates? The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) gets a lot of flack, but unfortunately you have to grin and bear their rules and regulations if you want to reach your destination. Whether your business involves heavy travel or your business helps people travel, consider putting your logo on promotional products that are compliant with TSA’s guidelines!

Carry-On Kit

This clear re-sealable bag comes with three 2.71 oz (80 ml) refillable bottles, one 2.71 oz refillable spray bottle, and a mini-funnel. The see-through bag is compliant with TSA’s current guidelines, and all of the bottles are under the 3.4-ounce (100 ml) limit. Plus, the bag and zipper are made entirely from plastic so you won’t have to worry about annoying the metal detector.

Comfort Travel Set

The last kit was for convenience, but this kit is purely for comfort! The five-piece Comfort Travel Set includes a wrap case, an inflatable neck pillow, an eye mask, ear plugs, and a travel alarm clock (with a snooze feature and included battery). This would be a welcome gift for guests who travel short distances OR long distances. Since each passenger is typically allowed one personal item on the flight, this handy set would be just the thing to take along for the ride. (Sorry, Bubba not included)

Mini Carry All

No, it’s NOT a purse! The Mini Carry All is the ultimate carry-on bag because it has plenty of space for your necessities and it fits within the dimension specifications for the airlines I checked. It looks stylish with a logo, too! (This bag would probably fit your netbook, but if you need the ultimate bag for a normal-sized laptop computer, then you may want to check into an Anvil Expandable Attache instead).

Retractable Earphones

Did you know that many airlines charge a small fee for use of their earphones? Nothing comes for free anymore…unless your customers are the recipients, of course. Circumvent clients’ anger and swoop in to save the day before their trip with customized Retractable Earphones. People will remember you in a positive way and they’ll likely keep these earbuds in their favorite travel bag for future uses!

Spectra Luggage Tag

You may think you’re savvy because you used colored tape and strings to differentiate your luggage from everyone else’s…but countless others may have had the same idea. However, luggage will surely POP if you personalize full-color Spectra Luggage Tags with an extra-special photo!

Cherry-pick your favorite travel items from this list or combine them to create the ultimate traveler’s kit. Your customers will love you for making their lives easier!

What are your favorite travel necessities? Do you have any flight or TSA stories you’d like to share?

PLEASE NOTE: These products all comply with TSA’s standards as of January 10, 2011. In case of future changes, be sure to visit the Transportation Security Administration’s website for the most up-to-date information regarding luggage and container sizes.

    It’s not a purse, it’s a SATCHEL!! Hey! There’s skittles in there!

Nice post. I had my toothpaste confiscated on my way to Italy because I didn’t know the guidelines. It’s surprisingly difficult to find the commodities you want in other countries, so the less hassle the better!

      “It’s not a purse, it’s a SATCHEL”

I was gonna say that! 🙁

  2. Joseph Giorgi

Great list, Jill. I sure hope that you heeded your own advice and brought some of these promo products along for your Cali trip. 😉

These items are probably some of the most beneficial that a person can have when traveling. Not sure about the retractable earphones though–I’d prefer the traditional cord.

  3. Scooby DOO!

I use to feel bad for those people who have to unload their entire carry-on and dump everything into the trash, but now I actually chuckle. I don’t know why, but it just makes time laugh to think that:

    A. the person thought they were so special that the TSA would just let them by.

    B. the person is just that oblivious to what is going on in the world.

Without fail, every time I am at O’Hare I hear the loud roar of someone b*tchin about the rules.

So “don’t be that guy” and don’t let your customers be either, purchase some carry-on kits today!

    • Joseph Giorgi

There’s really no reason for anyone to be “that guy” anymore. EVERYTHING under the sun is available in travel size nowadays!

Is it wrong that I look forward to being patted down at the airport?!?!

I’m a married man after all; and the pat downs outside of sporting events and at the airport are the most action I’ve seen in years – JK!

It’s been TEN YEARS since 9-11; but still so many passengers don’t know the rules. It blows my mind.

You want to talk about profiling, I maybe fly 3 to 4 times a year tops, which in my opinion isn’t very often, but I know who NOT to stand behind in line when it comes time to go through a security check point. I’m amazed as to how many AVID flyers still don’t get it…

As I tell my wife each and EVERY time (SIDE NOTE: what is up with wives requiring constant reminders – JK!); the sooner you realize that the TSA people are just doing their jobs, you begin to sympathize with them more, and the entire process goes a lot smoother. I’d much rather have my bag’s salads tossed than have some crazy idiot with a M80 stuffed in his buttocks sitting next to me on the plane…

Speaking of flying – airfare these days is insane! $450.00 to fly R/T from Chicago to Orlando – SERIOUSLY?!?!? Hey, remember me? I was one of the hundreds of millions of tax payers who helped bail you out of bankruptcy several years ago… How about paying things forward for once! 🙁

    • Joseph Giorgi

These extensive (and invasive) security checks now required at airports are sort-of a necessary evil. Unfortunate, but necessary. I’d agree that it’s better to be safe than sorry. It’s just a shame that air travel has become so intolerable nowadays for so many reasons.

  5. Kyle

I haven’t traveled by plane in years, but I have to say I wish I had some of these products with me when I did. Those retractable earphones look especially cool. I could see those being useful anytime I’m dealing with tangled earphone wires (which is pretty much always). Great post.

  6. Yowhatup!

    Great post Jill!

People need to understand that these new rules are here to stay, and are keeping us safe! So get over it!
