The newest addition to the QLP team is Erica Liedberg, a Halloween-loving horror fan with the coolest secret talent we’ve encountered.
Erica’s previous jobs include serving with the Air Force, office manager at a landscaping company, and managing a tattoo shop where she also did permanent makeup. We’re very happy to have her at QLP, but maybe not quite as happy as her dog, Moxxie, is to have Erica working from home.
Erica kindly submitted to our Q&A so you can find out how she celebrates her favorite season, her predictions for her sports teams, more about Moxxie, and, yes, that secret talent.
What’s your favorite comfort food?
My favorite comfort meal is a simple, nostalgic classic: Shake N’ Bake Chicken, buttery garlic mashed potatoes, and corn.
What was the last concert you went to?
I just realized I haven’t been to any concerts in 2024, which is a bit disappointing since I usually go to a lot! The last concert I attended was in October 2023. It was for Protest the Hero and The Callous Daoboys.
Do you support any sports teams? How optimistic are you about their chances?
I’m a Chicago White Sox fan, but after the 2023-24 season, I’ve officially joined the “Sell the Team, Jerry!” movement – I just can’t take it anymore.
I’m also a Chicago Bears fan. With Caleb Williams on board, I’m cautiously optimistic, but considering our history with top-tier quarterbacks, I’m wary things could go downhill quickly.
Do you have any pets? What are their names and personalities?
I have one dog, though she’s more like my baby (and my self-proclaimed office assistant.) Her name is Moxxie and she’s my little sweet potato. We originally thought she was a boxer mix, because she has the dark face, brown hair, and white feet and chest. Then we got her DNA tested and there’s not a single drop of boxer in this girl: She’s an American Pitbull terrier/American Staffordshire terrier mix. She definitely knows how to use her cuteness to her advantage.
What’s something people may be surprised to hear about you?
People are often surprised to learn that I served in the Air Force.
What’s your secret talent?
I’m a roller skater! I’ve been on wheels since I could walk. I used to compete in roller figure skating, which is like the fancy ice skating you see on TV, but on roller skates. (Skating also gave me the opportunity to have a very small role in the movie “Roll Bounce.”)
What’s your favorite season and how do you make the most of it?
Fall is my favorite season, and it usually kicks off on my birthday, so it feels like a yearly gift from Mother Nature.
Do you like Halloween? Any traditions?
I absolutely love Halloween – it’s always been my favorite! My husband and I even got married on Halloween, complete with costumes and a black dress.
Every year, we go all out with our decorations. We’ve got the 12ft skeletons and everything. We’re part of a haunt builders group, so we’re constantly pushing ourselves to up our game each year.
What’s your favorite movie?
I can never choose just one favorite movie, so here’s a handful in no particular order: “The Crow “(1994), “Cabin in the Woods,” “The Stand” (1994), “Batman” (1989), “Dodgeball,” “The Conjuring,” “Halloween” (1978), “The Devil’s Rejects,” “Shrek” and “The Addams Family” (1991).
Would you ever go skydiving?
Absolutely! Though I have a feeling I’d need someone to give me a little push once I’m up there.
It was a treat getting to know Erica! We’re happy to have her and her office assistant here at QLP.
