Give Your Brand a Hand: Charlotte’s Cakes November 2017
Being a new business owner is the taste of the sweet life. You have creative control and don’t have to deal with micro-managing bosses or pesky time clocks. For Charlotte Lipp of Charlotte’s Cakes in Springfield, Illinois, it’s also the opportunity to share her love of baking with her community. We are excited to award this passion with $500 in free promotional products through our Give Your Brand a Hand initiative.
Our Give Your Brand a Hand initiative is meant to give organizations like this up-and-coming bakery the chance to get the marketing materials they need to be successful. Applicants who make less than $1 million in annual revenue and have fewer than 50 employees can enter for their chance at securing $500 in free promotional products. Our team hand-picks the recipients based on their organization’s mission and their answer to the question: “What would you do with $500 in promo items?”
Located right outside of Springfield, Illinois in a little town called Riverton, Charlotte Lipp opened her storefront in September 2017. Charlotte’s Cakes has a hometown feel that you won’t find in other bakeries. In fact, her cake shop is one of only a few in the entire area. It’s a small, quaint place meant to build a sense of community. Everyone in Riverton can stop in, have a cup of coffee and a delicious slice of cake, and spend quality time with their neighbors.
“We try and make it more than just a bakery, but a place for the community to come together.” – Charlotte
The Sweet Life
Even though the storefront is new, Charlotte has a client base that she’s built working out of her home for over a year. Not to mention, she has plenty of cake-decorating expertise from her time working at Dairy Queen.
The result is beautifully-designed cakes that are served at weddings, baby reveal announcements, engagement parties, and birthdays. These cakes are all baked from scratch and demonstrate Charlotte’s passion and artistic integrity.
“I can do more advertising and reach more people. I like promos because they’re something people can have in their hands.” – Charlotte
As a new, relatively young business owner, Charlotte is still learning the ropes and figuring out what it takes to operate a one-person bakery. To get the word out there about her business, she ordered custom water bottles to promote her bakery in Riverton. With their aluminum material, these promos are a good way for her customers to cleanse their palates after they indulge in a delicious bakery treat.
Whether you’re a small business in need of high-quality water bottles like the ones Charlotte enjoyed or your nonprofit is looking for custom t-shirts to wear at your next volunteer event, Give Your Brand a Hand is designed with organizations like you in mind.
