Who could forget college? The exclusive events, dorm room parties, and exciting football games – for many, being on campus is one of the best times of their lives. For all the fun, however, there’s also a ton of hard work that goes into being a student. It can be extremely difficult to balance real-life experience with late-night study sessions, not to mention, being able to afford the cost of it all.
It’s in this spirit that Bret Bonnet and Mike Wenger, founders of Quality Logo Products®, created the Dr. Gary Ernst Entrepreneurial Scholarship Fund presented by www.qualitylogoproducts.com for undergraduates majoring in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management at North Central College. This $2,000 annual scholarship is designed to ease the stress of finances and allow a student to have an easier time pursuing their passion, while at the same time completing their education.
Bret & Mike’s Excellent Adventure
While Bret and Mike were in college, they would often stay up until well after 2 in the morning. Unlike their classmates, they weren’t just cramming for tomorrow’s test or finishing up an essay. They were running a small promotional products business from Bret’s basement with only one phone and a broken keyboard.
This scholarship is for eager entrepreneurs who are working just as hard. Are you thinking about building a website when you should be focused during class? Have you ever run jumper cables from your car to your house to get power? If so, then you’re a born entrepreneur like Bret and Mike and deserve a helping hand through this exclusive scholarship. Many students work full-time while also taking classes. This scholarship was created with them in mind.
The Man Behind the Scholarship
Dr. Gary Ernst was a professor at North Central College during Bret and Mike’s college days. He helped inspire them to pursue a career in business and served as a mentor with his real-world experience and profound instruction in the classroom.
Ernst is now enjoying his retirement, but that didn’t stop him from meeting Adrian Aldrich, Executive Director of Development and Alumni Affairs, and Bret and Mike on campus for the announcement of the scholarship. Professors like Ernst are making a difference every day, and for that, deserve to be acknowledged.
