Get to know Marlene Gomez, the newest member of our team!
Marlene graduated with a Bachelors in Sports PR and double Minor in Marketing and Spanish. Prior to QLP, she was working with a concert producer for Latin artists like Marc Anthony, Bad Bunny and Becky G. She’s a a mom of two kids under three so when she do get time to herself, she enjoys playing golf (or, as she puts it, getting played by golf) and fantasizing about the Bears winning a Super Bowl. This is the year I can feel it (but she says this every year!)
What is the last movie you watched? Did you enjoy it?
Coco is on loop thanks to my daughter – and yes, I cry every time.
Name one of your funniest childhood memories.
Growing up, my sister and I liked “pranking” my mom. One of our favorite “pranks” was signaling for help from the back seat while my mom drove. It was obviously not funny or ok, so she pulled the ultimate mom move and got the help of Police to stage a fake arrest for kidnapping. It was a scared straight moment, that we like to laugh at now.
The year is almost over. What was your favorite part about 2023?
Welcoming my second daughter into the world after a tough year.
What is the most adventurous food you’ve ever tried?
Armadillo tacos. They’re tough and salty, like me during the football season!
What is your superhero name and what would be your power of choice?
Mighty Mom. A snap of the fingers to get things done would be a power I would cherish.
Describe your dream vacation.
Road trip up the Amalfi coast – much pasta – and a lotta wine.
What hobbies do you enjoy?
Walks and “I spy” with my littles and playing golf.
Do you have a favorite band? If so, who are they? Did you ever see them in concert?
Coldplay! I saw them at Soldier Field, and it was a great show.
Are you more likely to go scuba diving in an ocean full of sharks or take up a quiet hobby like knitting?
Considering I’m terrified of sharks, I’d choose knitting away. I tried scuba in Mexico and that was A LOT harder than expected!
