Dear Penpal,

My mom says I've been spending too much time in front of screens again, so instead of just messaging you the way normal human beings do, I'm actually outside, writing you an actual letter with an actual pen.

It's not as bad as you think.

We had a six-pack of soda in the fridge, so I grabbed that and shoved it into this thing she got from work, the Penpal 6 Pack Cooler. Yeah, it's called the Penpal. Funny how that works out, huh?

Anyway, I zipped up the zipper on top, put the strap over my shoulder, and walked over to that one spot I told you about by the pond, right by the willow tree. I've had two of the sodas so far, and the insulation on the Penpal is keeping the rest nice and cold. Nature's pretty amazing when you've had two cans of caffeine and sugar.

If you were here, there would be a lot of other place we could go with this cooler full of soda:

• Down to the beach on the other side of town
• My friend Taylor's basement (she'd let us play with her video games, but we'd have to give her a can)
• A baseball game--the Rockwell Sheep are playing tonight

Do you have baseball where you're at? I just assumed there was corn and not much else.

Anyway, thanks for keeping me and the Penpal 6 Pack Cooler company, Penpal. I'll keep one in the cooler for you (until my mom tells me to put it back in the fridge). Maybe one day we'll get to enjoy it together.
