What do we mean by an extreme temperature change? Well, if you don't have super-warm hands, you can get the color to change by rapidly rubbing the pencil's surface with your finger, as we discovered during product testing. We also discovered that the pencil produces a heavy graphite line (though that depends a little on how hard you press, of course) and that the eraser erases without smudging or smearing the line (but may leave a shadow of what was written).
