White
Do you want to use this color in your promotional items? Here's what you should know!
White is achromatic, which means it is literally free from color. It is created by mixing an even amount of red, blue, and green, which is the basis of the RGB color model.
Bright colors are exciting, but there’s something pure and simple about white. The color is symbolic of innocence, cleanliness, and sterility. It also evokes feelings of blankness and minimalism.
Examples of White Symbolism
The “Lady’s Book,” published in 1849, claims “that white is the most fitting hue” for a bride since the color is “an emblem of purity and innocence.” We still honor this tradition even almost 200 years later.
Snow White is one of Disney’s most beloved characters. She sings to birds, makes friends with forest creatures, and doesn’t even notice that her stepmother is wicked. In the live action remake, she wears a white dress as a symbol of her innocence and purity.
White evokes a feeling of cleanliness and sterility. Hotels often make the beds with white sheets and pillowcases and leave out fresh white towels for that exact reason. They may even leave out a white bathrobe for you to wear after a shower.
